My Moon

There are things in this world that force themselves on me. The second I see them, I surrender to their whims. Stuck, frozen, powerless. But not with fear.
These are not things I run from but towards with welcoming arms. I invite you to take control because you have allowed me to witness the warmth of life.
In you exists the answers to longing, to hope, to fear, to desire, to pleasure. In you exist the answers to life.
Are you a song, a painting, a poem? You are all and none. You are you. You live with the weight of life and carry it as a feather. You laugh without knowing that by doing so, you are trapping another victim in your splendour.
When waves in an ocean lose the moon, without the forces of gravity encouraging their next crash, they whimper onto shore. Lost and helpless. Directionless. I am the wave, and you are my moon. I am because you exist. And I will be because you encourage me to persist.
